Panagia Neromylon or tou Loutrou (Virgin Mary of the Water Mills or of the Baths)

This small church can be found in the lush and verdant Malagkiotis river valley. The route that starts from the village square of Volissos follows the historic Ottoman-period stone path. This scenic medium-difficulty route passes by historic water mills such as those of Kokkinos, Kagiantas and Agios Georgios.
The Virgin Mary of the Water Mills is a single-nave church with a tile-covered saddleback roof and a small prostoon before the entrance. The church and its environs are an ideal rest stop for anyone on the hike. It’s a perfect spot to stop and take in the sights of the Malagkiotis river valley, known as the valley of the water mills.
